Baines & Fricker Liberty rocker
Brighton-based design duo Baines & Fricker have launched a new version of their hand-crafted SB03-1 rocker in Liberty print fabric.
“When we launched our website in spring last year we sent out e-mails to various press and retail and Liberty invited us for a meeting a couple of months later,” explains print designer Eliza Fricker, whose husband Steve Baines learnt furniture making through a City & Guilds course. “They were really encouraging and now stock a number of our furniture pieces and wallpaper.”
The Rocker in Harris tweed became available to buy through the Liberty London store in late summer 2012, with one selling in the very first weekend, sparking a run of orders.
“As it has been so popular and we have had requests for other fabrics we spoke to the buyer and all agreed it would work well with one of Liberty’s recognisable fabrics”, Eliza continues. “We’ve also used a different wood – English Oak – for this piece to compliment the material and there are lots of new Baines & Fricker designs in the pipeline that we plan to show Liberty in order to expand our range.”
The Liberty Rocker is made to order and will be available in Liberty’s full range of upholstery fabrics, priced at £2,150.

Wow these are both beautiful, but I especially love the Liberty print one!
