The Vintage Pattern Selector
Vintage Brighton editor Jo-ann Fortune has contributed to a sewing book offering advice on how to mix and match clothing styles from the 20th century.
Accompanied by a CD with printable patterns for a range of dress sizes, The Vintage Pattern Selector is a comprehensive guide to creating contemporary outfits from vintage styles. The book shows the reader how to choose the right fabric, colour palettes, styles and patterns in order to create wearable pieces that reference vintage styles and designs.
Jo-ann was asked to contribute chapters covering the history of the Little Black Dress, Peter Pan collar and printed scarf, offering contextual overviews as well as a quick now-and-then references on fabric, colour and style.
Bringing the style advice to life, vintage sewing patterns share spreads with images of current fashions, some of which modelled by a few of our favourite fashion bloggers, and sewing patterns offer step-by-step how-to guides.
The Vintage Pattern Selector, compiled by Jo Barnfield, is published by Bloomsbury and available to pre-order through Amazon.
