Mini Boden’s big fashion hit
We joined Lauren Laverne, Donna Air and Sarah Parish at Somerset House this week to delight in the pretty prints and delicate details of Boden’s spring/summer 2013 offering.
While the Sixties-inspired women’s range – boasting funnel-neck wiggle dresses, Peter Pan collars and beautiful brocade – and key pieces such as classic boucle cardigans, statement trousers and bejewelled dresses had us clocking up the s/s must-haves, it was Mini Boden that saw our vintage radar go off the dial.
Fifties-style floral dresses with cute collars, conversational prints, traditional knits and a pretty pastel colour palette – there are going to be some well-dressed little ones next summer.
The brand’s British heritage remains as evident as ever throughout the collection, with bunting, deck chairs and sailing boats reminiscent of domestic coastal holidays and ditsy florals picked straight from English country cottages. The work of British mid-century textile designer Lucienne Day also seems to have provided inspiration for the bold organic and abstract prints.
So if you can’t find those hard-to-come-by vintage originals for your little one next season, you know where to go. We only wish we could fit into these teeny tiny togs…
