The big Brighton switch-on
On 15 November this year’s Christmas lights will be switched on in East Street, setting a sparkling scene to be enjoyed by late night shoppers and merry-makers in the run up to the holidays.
Between 5pm and 8pm, Juice FMs Foxy and Dan Gasser be joined onstage by Santa and his elves and the Silver Sounds Samba Band, Ole Ole Flamenco Dancers, Juicy Dance Crew and 40 strong Brighton Theatre Workshop Youth Voice Choir will are set to provide the entertainment.
There are also dozens of prizes to be won on the night, including salon treats at Simon Webster Hair, places at a Macaroon Making class from Angel Food Bakery, a Christmas Food Hamper from Terre a Terre, £20 Gift Voucher from Punktured, a £50 Voucher for Purple Heart, a gift box from CyberCandy and much more.
The Christmas lights are paid for by the businesses of Brilliant Brighton, a collection of 517 local shops, bars, restaurants and cafés, who have this year invested even more in the displays. Timers have also been added to the LED lights to help save energy.
